State-Corporate Complex: A Threat to Freedom & Survival with Noam Chomsky and Linda McQuaig

On April 7, 2011 in the Hart House Great Hall, academic, author and political activist Noam Chomsky gave a talk on State-Corporate Complex: A Threat to Freedom and Survival. He was introduced by Toronto Star columnist and best-selling author Linda McQuaig The event was co-organized by Hart House Debates Committee, Near East Cultural Education Foundation – NECEF and Science for Peace.
The event started with introductory remarks by Hart House Warden Louise Cowin. After Chomsky’s talk Marion Boulby, President of NECEF, gave a speech asking attendees to donate to the Canadian Boat to Gaza.
Q&A session was moderated by political science student Semra Sevi. The event ended with closing remarks given by Science for Peace Treasurer Chandler Davis.
