Privacy

This policy describes what information Science for Peace collects and how it is used. We aim to collect as little personal data as possible and to retain it only as long as necessary.

What we collect

  • Site analytics: aggregate, anonymized page-view counts via a privacy-respecting analytics tool (no third-party tracking, no fingerprinting).
  • Newsletter: if you subscribe, we store your email address and your language preference (EN/FR). You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every newsletter.
  • Donations: name, email, and the amount donated, for tax-receipt purposes. Payment-card details are processed by our payment provider; we do not store them.
  • Researcher accounts: for members, the information you provide on registration (name, affiliation, ORCID where applicable).

What we do not do

  • We do not sell or trade personal information.
  • We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
  • We do not share email lists with other organizations, including affiliated ones.

Your rights

Under Canadian federal privacy legislation (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial law, you may request access to the personal information we hold about you, request corrections, or request deletion. Email [email protected] for any such request.
