Mon, Aug 29, 2016: Nuclear weapons campaign meeting and dinner
This September, the UN General Assembly will be discussing a global nuclear ban. Canada is not yet onside, but many peace and disarmament groups have been lobbying and encouraging people in our networks to do the same.
The Science for Peace Working Group on Nuclear Weapons is inviting a representative from each of numerous organizations to meet and discuss the campaign. We hope you or one of your network can attend. It will be held Monday, August 29, at 4:00 pm in Friends House, 60 Lowther St, Toronto (just west of Bedford, near the St. George subway).
We will share ideas until 6 pm, enjoy a meal ($10 per person), then re-assemble at 7:00 pm to hear a talk by Earl Turcotte, a retired Canadian diplomat who specialized in disarmament negotiations.
Please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org by August 26th how many of your network to expect, so we can order the right amount of food.
