Dinner and Talk: Civil Resistance Against Violent Groups

How can we handle ISIS and other violent groups? Dr Maciej Bartkowski is a scholar at the International Center on Nonviolent Conflict, who studies civilian resistance movements against armed groups—not only the case of ISIS but also violent conflicts in Colombia, Bosnia, Liberia, and Mali.

Arriving from 6:00 pm onward to a private dining room, we will enjoy a delicious dinner, then hear Bartkowski speak. Next, Lt. Col. David Last, a retired Canadian military officer and professor at the Royal Military Colllege, will share his (somewhat different) perspective. After a give-and-take discussion between them, the floor will be open for a Q and A session until 9:00 or 9:30.

The three-course dinner is prix-fixe ($37.71 including all taxes and fees) with vegetarian and non-veg options, and there is a cash bar. Everyone is welcome.
